Michael Feinstein' Romance on Film, Romance on Broadway Each one of these pieces was the result of a musical idea which then evoked a mood which contributed to the completion of the music. The nature of the music is personal and I'd prefer not to comment on that aspect. I also feel that doing so would take away from the listening experience. Naturally, this does not refer to the 3 songs - the lyrics give everything away. It takes me a long time to find titles that feel right to me and in the past I have started with a title before writing a note of music. In that case the title is just a starting point and, once again, aside from creating an initial mood for me, it has no counterpart in the music. In the case of the music on THE TIES THAT BLIND, all titles came after the music was completed and are only MY impressions. I would hope that the music evokes different things for different people.
